毎年5月、日本の五つの国公立芸術大学が集まる恒例イベント「五芸祭」が開催される。
五芸祭は、京都市立芸術大学・東京藝術大学・金沢美術工芸大学・愛知県立芸術大学・沖縄県立芸術大学の5校が持ち回りで開催する「五芸術大学体育・文化交歓会」。
五つの芸術大学の学生にとっては、毎年楽しみにしている一大イベントだ。一方、市民や観光客にとっても、普段はなかなか入る機会のない芸術大学のキャンパスを訪れ、各大学の学生作品や学校ごとの特色に触れられる貴重な機会になっている。
2026年の開催校は京都市立芸術大学。
キャンパスに足を踏み入れると、絵画や彫刻、工芸、デザインなど、さまざまな作品が展示されているだけではない。
学生バンドやサークルによる演奏が会場を盛り上げ、広場では学生たちが制作した陶芸や版画、アクセサリー、などを販売する手づくりも開かれていた。作品を眺めたり、演奏を楽しんだり、気になった作品について作者本人と話したり――キャンパス全体が、まるで文化祭のようなにぎやかな空間になっていた。
今年は、沖縄県立芸術大学大学院環境造形専攻（絵画）の中国人留学生、蘇徳格日勒（ソドゲレル）さんに話を聞いた。二年続けて五芸祭に参加した彼女の経験を通して、このイベントの魅力を紹介したい。
二年続けて参加した五芸祭
ソドゲレルさんは中国・内モンゴル自治区出身。現在は沖縄県立芸術大学大学院で絵画を学んでいる。
大学院に入学した2025年、五芸祭は沖縄県立芸術大学で開催された。入学したばかりだった彼女にとって、五芸祭は初めて参加する大学行事でもあり、同じ芸術を学ぶ学生たちが、それぞれの大学から集まり交流する様子を初めて目にした。
そして一年後、五芸祭の舞台は京都へ。
今年は、自身の作品を携えて京都市立芸術大学を訪れ、出展者として再び五芸祭に参加した。開催校は変わっても、彼女が感じる五芸祭の魅力は変わらなかったという。
大学ごとに教育のスタイルも違えば、作品の表現もまったく違います。作品を違う環境に持っていくと、「どんなふうに見てもらえるんだろう」と少し緊張します。でも、その分、新しい出会いや発見がたくさんあります。
五芸祭は作品を展示する場であると同時に、人と人が出会い、お互いの考え方に触れられる場所でもある。
今年、ソドゲレルさんが展示した作品は《再生の紋様》。
作品には、モンゴル文化における羊皮と羊拐骨（羊のくるぶしの骨）が取り入れられている。
モンゴルでは、羊拐骨は子どもたちの遊び道具として親しまれているだけでなく、幸運や生命、人と人とのつながりを象徴する存在でもある。羊皮もまた、遊牧民族の暮らしを支えてきた大切な素材だ。
ソドゲレルさんは、こうしたモンゴル族文化に込められた精神を作品を通して伝えたいと考えている。
日本へ留学してから、自分自身の文化を改めて見つめ直すようになったという。草原や羊、祭りなど、幼い頃には当たり前だった風景が、今では作品づくりの大切なインスピレーションになっている。そして、日本で学んだ素材や表現方法も、新たな創作へとつながっている。
五芸祭がつくる、新しい出会い
五つの芸術大学が一度に集まる五芸祭は、まさに「5倍楽しめる芸大祭」と言えるかもしれない。
学生たちの作品を鑑賞したり、演奏やパフォーマンスを楽しんだり、手づくりマーケットをのぞいたり、作者と直接話したり――それぞれが自分らしい楽しみ方で参加できる。会場を歩いていると、芸術が特別なものではなく、学生たちの日常や暮らしの中に自然と息づいていることを感じられる。
また、留学生にとっては、自分の国や文化を多くの人に紹介できる貴重な機会でもある。一つひとつの作品の背景には、それぞれ異なる地域や文化、そして作者自身のストーリーがある。
五芸祭の魅力は、そうした物語に出会えることなのかもしれない。
今年参加できなかった人は、ぜひ次回の五芸祭に足を運んでみてほしい。
2027年の五芸祭は愛知県立芸術大学で開催予定。
京都市立芸術大学で再び開催されるのは、現在の予定では2031年。
芸術を学んでいる人も、そうでない人も大歓迎。作品を見たり、演奏を楽しんだり、学生マーケットを歩いたり、五つの芸術大学の学生と話したり。
そんな何気ない時間が、新しい文化や価値観、そして誰かの物語と出会うきっかけになるかもしれない。

每年5月，日本五所国公立艺术大学都会迎来一场备受期待的联合活动——五藝祭。
五藝祭由京都市立艺术大学、东京艺术大学、金泽美术工艺大学、爱知县立艺术大学和冲绳县立艺术大学共同参与，5所学校轮流承办的「五芸術大学体育・文化交歓会」。对于五所学校的学生而言，它是一场令人期待的欢快聚会。而对于市民和游客来说，这也是一个难得的机会，能够走进艺术大学的校园，近距离了解五所学校的学生创作，感受不同学校孕育出的艺术特色。

2026年的五藝祭由京都市立艺术大学承办。
走进校园，除了分布在各个展厅中的绘画、雕塑、工艺、设计等作品之外，整个校园也因为五藝祭而变得格外热闹。
学生乐队和社团的演奏吸引着来往的观众驻足聆听；校园广场上的手作集市聚拢着学生们亲手制作的陶艺、版画、首饰、明信片等原创作品，不少创作者就站在摊位旁，与前来参观的人分享自己的作品。

今年，我们采访了来自冲绳县立艺术大学大学院环境造形专攻绘画专业的中国留学生苏德格日勒。透过她连续两年参加五藝祭的经历，我们也重新认识了这项已经持续多年的校园艺术交流活动。两年五藝祭，不同的举办地，相同的期待
苏德格日勒来自中国内蒙古，目前在冲绳县立艺术大学攻读硕士课程。
2025年，她刚进入大学院学习时，五藝祭正好由冲绳县立艺术大学承办。对于初到学校的她来说，这是第一次接触五藝祭，也是第一次看到五所艺术大学的学生因为共同的兴趣聚集在一起。
一年之后，五藝祭来到京都。
这一次，她从冲绳带着自己的作品来到京都市立艺术大学，以参展学生的身份再次参加活动。
虽然举办学校不同，但她觉得，五藝祭最珍贵的始终是人与人之间的交流。
她告诉我们，每所学校都有不同的教学特色，不同专业的学生也有着完全不同的创作方式。”把作品带到不同的环境里，总会有一点紧张，因为不知道别人会怎么看。但也正因为如此，每一次交流都会带来新的启发。”
今年，苏德格日勒带来的作品名为《再生の紋様》。
作品以蒙古文化中的羊皮与羊拐骨为主要元素。
在蒙古族文化中，羊拐骨既是儿童熟悉的传统游戏道具，也寄托着吉祥、生命与人与人之间联系的寓意；羊皮则记录着游牧民族与自然共生的生活方式。
她希望能向大家传播蒙古族文化背后的精神。来到日本之后，她开始重新思考自己的文化身份。过去熟悉的生活记忆——草原、羊群、祭祀——如今反而成为创作中最重要的灵感来源。而在日本学习过程中接触到的材料与表现方式，也不断丰富着她对作品的理解。

五藝祭，让更多人走进艺术，也走近彼此
能参加五藝祭这样“5倍浓缩”的艺大祭，无疑是一次美好的体验。
无论是欣赏学生作品、观看演奏演出、逛一逛手作市集，还是与创作者面对面交流，来到这里的人都能够以自己的方式参与其中，感受青春与艺术是如何融入日常生活中的，成为生活中的一抹别样的色彩。
对于来自不同国家和地区的留学生而言，这也是向更多人介绍自己文化的机会。能够在一件件作品背后，看见不同地域、不同成长背景孕育出的多元视角。
而五藝祭最珍贵的地方，也许正是在于它让这些故事有机会被更多人听见。

Gogeisai — Five Times the Fun at an Art University Festival
Every year in May, five national and public art universities from across Japan come together for the annual Gogeisai festival.
Gogeisai, officially known as the Five National and Public Universities of the Arts Sports and Cultural Exchange Festival, is hosted in rotation by five universities: Kyoto City University of Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, Kanazawa College of Art, Aichi University of the Arts, and Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts.
For students at these five art universities, Gogeisai is one of the biggest and most eagerly anticipated events of the year. For local residents and visitors, it is also a rare opportunity to step onto the campuses of art universities that they might not normally have a chance to visit, and to experience the students’ work and the unique character of each university.

The host university for 2026 was Kyoto City University of Arts.
Stepping onto the campus, visitors found much more than paintings, sculptures, crafts, and design works on display.
Student bands and club performances brought the venue to life, while handmade markets in the open plaza offered ceramics, prints, accessories, and other creations made by students. Visitors could admire the artwork, enjoy live performances, or talk directly with the artists about works that caught their attention.
The entire campus had the lively atmosphere of a traditional university festival, with art naturally woven into the experience.

This year, we spoke with Sodogerel, a Chinese international student from Inner Mongolia who is studying painting in the Environmental Design and Modeling major at the Graduate School of Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts.
Having taken part in Gogeisai for two consecutive years, she shared her experiences and offered a glimpse into what makes the festival so special.
Two Consecutive Years at Gogeisai
Sodogerel is originally from Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in China and is currently studying painting at the Graduate School of Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts.
In 2025, the year she entered graduate school, Gogeisai was held at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts. As a newly enrolled student, it was her first university-wide event. It was also her first opportunity to see students studying art come together from different universities and interact with one another.
A year later, Gogeisai moved to Kyoto.
This time, she returned to the festival at Kyoto City University of Arts with her own artwork and participated as an exhibiting artist.
Although the host university had changed, she felt that the appeal of Gogeisai remained the same.
Each university has a different educational approach, and the ways students express themselves through their work are completely different. When you take your work to a different environment, you naturally feel a little nervous and wonder, ‘How will people see it here?’ But at the same time, it leads to so many new encounters and discoveries.
Gogeisai is not only a place to exhibit artwork. It is also a place where people meet, exchange ideas, and gain insight into different ways of thinking.
This year, Sodogerel exhibited a work titled Patterns of Rebirth.
The work incorporates sheepskin and sheep ankle bones, known as shagai, which are part of Mongolian culture.
In Mongolia, sheep ankle bones are familiar children’s playthings, but they also carry symbolic meanings associated with good fortune, life, and human connections. Sheepskin, meanwhile, has long been an important material that has supported the traditional way of life of nomadic peoples.
Through her work, Sodogerel hopes to convey the spirit and cultural values embedded in Mongolian traditions.
Since coming to Japan to study, she has begun looking more closely at her own cultural heritage. Landscapes of the grasslands, sheep, festivals, and other scenes that felt ordinary when she was a child have now become important sources of inspiration for her artwork.
At the same time, the materials and artistic techniques she has encountered in Japan have also opened up new possibilities for her creative work.

New Encounters Created by Gogeisai
With five art universities coming together in one place, Gogeisai might truly be described as “an art university festival that is five times the fun.”
Visitors can admire students’ artwork, enjoy music and performances, browse handmade markets, or simply talk directly with the artists. Everyone can experience the festival in their own way.
Walking around the venue, you can feel that art is not something distant or extraordinary. Instead, it is naturally woven into the students’ everyday lives and experiences.
For international students in particular, Gogeisai is also a valuable opportunity to introduce their own countries and cultures to a wider audience. Behind each individual artwork lies a different region, culture, and personal story.
Perhaps that is what makes Gogeisai so special: it gives us the chance to encounter those stories.

Gogeisai 2027 is scheduled to be held at Aichi University of the Arts.
According to the current hosting schedule, Kyoto City University of Arts is not expected to host the festival again until 2031.
